Georgia ranks near the bottom of a new national report of healthcare systems.
WalletHub’s 2026 report ranked Georgia 49th overall in health care. The report compares healthcare costs, access and outcomes across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Georgia placed 37th in healthcare cost, 49th for access and 43rd for outcomes.
Chip Lupo, a WallerHub analyst, said the best healthcare systems balance affordability with quality and accessibility.
“The best states for healthcare are those that make high-quality care affordable, on top of providing many options for doctors and making insurance easily accessible,” Lupo said.
Georgia beat Mississippi, which placed 50th overall, and Alaska, which placed 51st. New Hampshire secured the top spot followed by Minnesota and Iowa.
