National Voter Registration Day was Tuesday nearly three weeks ahead of Georgia’s voter registration deadline.
According to Georgia’s Secretary of State’s office, Georgia has nearly 7.5 million active registered voters.
Georgia Elections Director Blake Evans said as the state’s population has grown, voter registration has also slightly increased.
Eligible Georgians with a state driver’s license can register online, but voters can also submit a paper application.
“If you choose to go the paper route, just make sure that your handwriting is clear,” Evans said. “Make sure that you have your driver’s license number there ready to input that information.”
If you are already registered to vote, election officials encourage you to check your information on Georgia’s My Voter Page.
