An 18 year old in Atlanta is pursuing a music career while raising awareness about autism.
Raja Green-Hornes is a singer, songwriter and dancer while also being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
“I love performing in front of people. I love giving people a show,” he said. “It’s nice. It gives me a good feeling in my body.”
Charlitra Johnson-Hornes, Green-Hornes mother and biggest fan, said she was worried when he was diagnosed with ASD and ADHD, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. She was concerned that he might be labeled due to his diagnosis.
“The industry needs to be more aware that there are artists who have autism, and it’s OK. There’s nothing wrong with them. A matter of fact, they’re highly intelligent people,” she said.
Green-Hornes plans to continue to pursue his dreams by releasing music, performing and inspiring others who have faced similar challenges.
