Although individual experiences vary, a new study finds that Atlanta’s airport ranks among the best for avoiding travel disruptions.
A study by Consumer Affairs ranked the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport fifth among major airports for avoiding traffic disruptions and second for recovery when problems occurred.
Just over 1% of Atlanta’s scheduled departures were canceled, and nearly 19% of those involved the last flight of the day to that destination.
On average, Atlanta’s airport has around 5 other flights to the same destination on any given day. This gives passengers potential alternatives if their flight gets canceled.
Los Angeles International topped the major airport rankings.
