Be Best
If you are looking for things to do around the state this weekend, maybe drop in to one of the South’s largest literary events.
The Savannah Book Festival officially started Thursday and will run through Sunday with some of the most renowned authors in the country, according to Travel and Tour World.
The event is spread throughout the historic downtown area, and events will take place in museums, churches and theaters.
Saturday will be filled with more than 35 authors giving 30-minute presentations, including Stacey Abrams, Anthony Vinci, Victoria Christopher Murray and Nicholas Boggs.
“Our mission is to promote reading, writing, and civil conversation, bringing together authors and audiences in a shared love of storytelling and ideas,” says the festival’s website.
The event started in 2008 and has featured more than 650 authors over the past decade.
Tickets for the opening, keynote and closing addresses are available to purchase at savannahbookfestival.org.
