PLUS: Rick Jackson’s effective ads vs Keisha Lance Bottoms’ retail style – which will win?
The Rick Jackson campaign has taken a two-pronged approach in the race to be Georgia’s next governor: portray him in a softer, more human role with his past foster advocacy while also running those nefarious-toned attack ads against his opponent. My take? It seems to be working, and polls show he’s closed the gap his opponent – Keisha Lance Bottoms – once had between them.
Bottoms won’t be able to outspend Jackson; we knew that from day one of the general election cycle. Will she be able to out-retail him? To energize the base? To shore up the “off the couch and to the polls” contingent that’s let down liberals in 2024 and 2022 (for Stacey Abrams)? Yet to be seen.
Bottoms also sat down with the ‘Politically Georgia’ team for a prolonged Q&A to respond to some of Jackson’s attacks relitigating her time as mayor of Atlanta.
