Audi plans $4 billion Georgia plant expected to create 4,500 jobs

President Donald Trump made a major economic announcement for Georgia at a campaign rally in Perry where he encouraged Republican voters to get to the polls.

German automaker Audi plans a $4 billion investment in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Middle Georgia Megasite. The investment is expected to bring around 4,500 new jobs to the Middle Georgia area.

“Think of that; think of 200,000 cars. That’s incredible,” Trump said at the rally.

The company expects to begin grading in 2027 and construction on the facility in 2028. By 2031, the company expects the facility to be at full production creating about 200,000 units per year.

The facility will be Audi’s first manufacturing plant in the U.S.

“We are proud that Audi has selected Georgia as the home of their first U.S. manufacturing facility, delivering truly historic investment and jobs to middle Georgia,” said Gov. Brian Kemp in a news release published shortly after Trump made the announcement. “Following the success we’ve enjoyed with other megasites, we purchased and made more improvements to the Middle Georgia Megasite for just this purpose: to bring a job-creating, high-caliber automotive manufacturer to this region.”
