Fulton County Elections Academy gives voters a closer look at Georgia’s election process

Fulton County held an event last week to give voters the chance to have a closer look at the state’s election process.

Fulton County’s Elections Academy opened Thursday, and voters learned about voter registration, how polling places work, what poll workers do and where they can find accurate election information.

The goal of the academy is to promote transparency and encourage participation, according to the county’s website.

Georgia election officials reported record-breaking turnout for early, in-person voting over the past two weeks.

CBS News Atlanta spoke to some voters who decided to vote early this year.

“In order to get the economy fixed, that’s going to take some people using common sense and little less corruption,” one voter told CBS News.

Early voting continues through Oct. 30, and information about polling locations and times can be found at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
