WTF Friday
Georgia NOW’s newest weekly addition to our lineup – At The Kitchen Table – is officially official with its first episode having aired Tuesday, January 20th.
At The Kitchen Table (ATK) features Caroline Welles, founder and executive director of The First Ask , a national political organization dedicated to electing first-time Democratic women to state legislatures, along with Debra Shigley, who you may remember, ran for a Georgia State House seat in 2025. Debra’s an attorney, author, and advocate whose career spans law, journalism, and social impact.
Together, as co-hosts and friends, the ATK ladies plan to have conversations everyday Georgians are having – at their kitchen tables – with each other and local, state and national figures aiming to bring positive change to those ‘kitchen table’ conversations.
Their first guest? Rep. Shea Roberts, a mom, wife, attorney and small business owner who entered the political scene in 2018, and has served in the Georgia House since 2022. Listen in as Caroline, Debra and Shea discuss the issues popping up this Georgia General Assembly session, and hear from Rep. Roberts why Democratic priorities are so tough to push through when the party’s – as she put it – “playing defense” so much.
Pull up a chair and grab a glass or mug of your favorite bevvy and join them At The Kitchen Table.
