Ossoff criticizes Trump at College Park rally
Sen. Jon Ossoff held a reelection rally in College Park over the weekend where he criticized President Donald Trump and positioned Republicans as pawns for the ultra-rich.
“Now, you remember, we were told that MAGA was for working-class Americans. You remember that? But this is a government of, by and for the ultra-rich. It is the wealthiest cabinet ever. This is the Epstein-class ruling our country. They are the elites they pretend to hate,” Ossoff said.
More than 1,400 supporters gathered Saturday, according to WABE, and Ossoff criticized Trump for policies that he says hurt Georgians, such as tariffs, immigration policies and cuts to government programs.
Ossoff is up for reelection in November, and several Republicans are vying for his seat. Former U.S. Reps. Mike Collins and Buddy Carter and Derek Dooley are all Republicans who have announced bids for the Senate seat.
“Trump was supposed to fight for the working class. Instead, he’s literally closing rural clinics and hospitals to cut taxes for George Soros and Elon Musk,” Ossoff said.
Ossoff also criticized the president for the FBI raid on Fulton County’s elections warehouse to seize ballots from 2020 as well as the president’s rhetoric around elections.
“They made a big mistake. They came to Fulton County, Georgia. They came to the political and spiritual heart of the civil rights movement,” Ossoff said. “And as a result, we are going to mobilize the biggest and most unstoppable turnout in state history.”
The Ron Show covered the rally on Monday with commentary about Ossoff’s positioning. Listen to the full episode here.
