Atlanta Pride Festival returns this weekend with parade, marches

The Atlanta Pride Festival will take place this weekend starting on Saturday, Oct. 10, in Piedmont Park. The event will feature three community marches, a major parade and two days of events in Midtown.

Organizers expect hundreds of thousands of people to attend the events throughout the weekend.

The Atlanta Pride Parade begins at noon on Sunday near the Civic Center MARTA station and runs a 2.2-mile route along Peachtree Street to 10th Street to finish at Piedmont Park.

The parade is free.

The three marches are planned for Saturday and begin at the Charles Allen Gate at Piedmont Park.

  • The Trans March starts at 1:45 p.m.
  • The Bi+ Pan March begins at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Dyke March starts at 5 p.m.

Street closures will start Friday. Streets will be closed throughout Saturday afternoon and on Sunday along the parade route.

Parking will be limited, and organizers suggest participants take MARTA.
