MAGA-packed state elections board's 11th hour schemes
Voters across Georgia are getting the opportunity to question candidates face to face ahead of the November midterm elections.
In Cobb County on Tuesday, the League of Women Voters of Georgia and the Marietta-Cobb County chapter hosted the 2026 Nonpartisan Candidate Meet & Greet at Turner Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church on North Marietta Parkway.
Marietta voter Laurie Williamson-Holliday brought a list of questions for the candidates.
“It was nice to have the opportunity to actually meet them before going into that, before voting,” Williamson-Holliday said. “Seeing somebody and talking to them is a little different from seeing their name on a piece of paper.”
The free, public event featured candidates in statewide and Cobb County races and was held just five weeks before the Nov. 3 general election.
Each candidate had a turn to speak to the audience and introduce themselves. Then, voters had the opportunity to meet each candidate at their booth to ask questions.
