Uncommon Sense
Sen. Jon Ossoff speaks onstage during the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation 2025 Good Trouble Gala at Flourish Atlanta on May 29, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia.
U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff made his case against President Trump and Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Collins on Sunday at a campaign rally in Atlanta.
Ossoff will face Collins in the general election Nov. 3 for his seat in the Senate. In-person early voting starts on Oct. 13 in Georgia.
At the rally, Ossoff painted Collins as a Trump yes-man and criticized the president for failing to deliver on reducing high prices.
“I want the president’s remaining supporters to hear this because it was all a lie,” Ossoff said before pointing to the cost of groceries, utilities, coffee, school supplies and farm equipment.
Ossoff also criticized the president for the war in Iran and Trump’s focus on the 2020 presidential election.
“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war … the president sleeps through his meetings. He golfs and trades stocks,” Ossoff said.
Ossoff has received endorsements beyond the Democratic Party, including from former Republican U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, Valdosta Mayor Scott James Matheson and Tifton Mayor Julie Smith.
